Where your retreat begins.

Most retreats start with a night or two at Victoria Falls before the road transfer to Munga Plains. Mosi-oa-Tunya — ‘The Smoke That Thunders’ — is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the nearest international gateway.

The Falls

Mosi-oa-Tunya

The largest waterfall in the world.

Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the world’s largest waterfall by combined width and height. The spray rises high enough to feed a rainforest ecosystem of its own — mist, rainbows, and a constant low thunder.

The falls have been a place of reverence and spiritual importance for the local communities for centuries. Every guide knows a different story about their origin.

The transfer

Three hours, then you’re home.

After Victoria Falls, the road transfer to Munga Plains takes about 3 hours — including the Zimbabwe/Botswana border crossing at Kasane. We arrange and accompany the transfer so your group doesn’t think about logistics.

A boat cruise on the Chobe often slots into the journey, with lunch at Kasane. Arrival at the camp in the late afternoon, in time for a welcome and dinner.
